Chubby Frog: Free crochet pattern

Hello!

I present to you a sweet and chubby crocheted frog. An easy and quick to crochet pattern and most importantly, completely without sewing. 😁 

Thanks to its size, it will be perfect as a bag or backpack pendant. Just add a pendant or keychain.

You can adapt the pattern to your needs by choosing your favorite colours of yarn.

In this project I use YarnArt Dolce (100g/120m) yarn. You can use any super bulky or bulky yarn in your work. Just remember that when using a different yarn, the size of the mascot may be different. You can use completely different colours of yarn, it's up to you. 😊

Finished size approximately - height 6 cm, diameter 6 cm.

Yarn colours (less than 1 skein each):

• colour A - YarnArt Dolce NR 799 - Apple green

1. Before you start

• In the project I use US terminology.
• We work in a spiral, adding the filling while crocheting.
• You can use any plush yarn in your project.
• If you have trouble pulling the yarn through, use a smaller hook to help.

2. Abbreviation

• MR - magic ring
• inc - increase
• dec - decrease
• sl st - slip stitch
• sc - single crochet
• dc - double crochet
• pc - popcorn stitch:
• pc (3 dc) - pc made from 3 dc,
• pc (5 dc) - pc made from 5 dc.

3. Materials

• Hook - 5 mm
• Tapestry needle
• Scissors
• Stitch markers
• Stuffing fibre
• Yarn
• 2 safety eyes - 9 mm or any you want

4. Instruction

1. 8 sc in MR (8)
2. 8 inc (16)
3. (sc, inc) x8 (24)
4. pc (3 dc), 3 inc, 3 sc, inc, 3 sc, 3 inc, pc (3 dc), 4 sc, inc, 4 sc (32)

5-9. 32 sc (32) (5 rounds)

Place safety eyes under the popcorn st, between rows 3 and 4. Look at the photo below.

10. 3 sc, pc (5 dc), 15 sc, pc (5 dc), 5 sc, pc (3 dc), 3 sc, pc (3 dc), 2 sc (32)

Stuff the frog.

Fasten off and close the hole by pulling your tail through the front loops of stitches and pull. 

Assembly:

• Embroider a mouth.
• If you want, embroider pink cheeks.
• If you want, you can add white eye details.
