Dino the Chubby Dinosaur: Free crochet pattern
Hi crochet friends!
I would like to share with you my pattern for a chubby dinosaur. This is one of my favorite types of patterns - no sewing. The dinosaur is quick to make and shouldn't cause you much difficulty.
So grab your crochet hook and get started! π
Finished size approximately - 10 cm.
Yarn colours (less than 1 skein each):
- colour A - YarnArt Dolce NR 799 - Apple green
- colour B - YarnArt Dolce NR 772 - Olive green

- We work in a spiral, adding the filling while crocheting.

- Tapestry needle
- Scissors
- Stitch markers
- Stuffing fibre
- Yarn
- Black embroidery floss
- Safety eyes - 10 mm or any you want
- MR - magic ring
- inc - increase
- dec - decrease
- sl st - slip stitch
- sc - single crochet
- hdc - half double crochet
- dc - double crochet
- pc - popcorn stitch:
- pc (3 dc) - pc made from 3 dc,
- pc (5 dc) - pc made from 5 dc.
Body:
1. A: 8 sc in MR (8)
2. 8 inc (16)
3. (sc, inc) x8 (24)
4-8. 24 sc (24) (5 rounds)
9. pc (3 dc), 4 sc, pc (3 dc), 18 sc (24)
10-12. 25 sc (3 rounds)
1. A: 8 sc in MR (8)

Place the dino eyes above the hands.
Place safety eyes between rounds 5 and 6, 3 stitches apart.
13. pc (5 dc), 5 sc, pc (5 dc), 17 sc (24)

16. 6 dec (6)
Stuff the body.
Fasten off and close the hole by pulling your tail through the front loops of stitches and pull.
Crest along the spine:
You can mark the lines along which you will make the crest. (photo)
The line should pass roughly through the middle of the body when viewed from above.
Attach the yarn with one chain stitch just above the eyes.
Change colour to B.
First st - 1 ch, hdc and dc (all in one st),
Second st - sc,
Third st - 3 dc in one st.
Repeat alternating sc and 3 dc in one stitch to the end of body.
Fasten off with slip stitch.
